Faith groups are coming together In Northern Ireland to explore a joint approach for addressing environmental challenges, in order to enhance mutual support and develop a collaborative approach for the future. We would like to invite you to an event to further this aim on 12th January, with guest speaker Dr. Lorna Gold.
Dr. Lorna Gold is CEO of FaithInvest, a global organization that supports faith communities to align their investments with their values for social and environmental good. She has over 20 years of experience in bridging faith, finance, and sustainable development. She is passionate about growing the movement of values-driven investors, especially in the face of the climate emergency and biodiversity loss. She is the chair of the Laudato Si Movement, a network of Catholic organizations committed to ecological conversion.
COP 28 is the first COP to have a significant contribution from Faith groups. Lorna will share her experience there, as a keynote speaker at the Faith Pavilion. The first-ever Faith Pavilion at a UN Climate Change Conference was hosted by the Muslim Council of Elders in collaboration with the COP28 Presidency, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and a diverse coalition of global partners. It brought together religious and other civil society representatives, Indigenous Peoples, scientists, youth and political leaders. The Pavilion provided a unique opportunity for faith-based engagement with key stakeholders to promote swift and effective climate action.
